Deadline decision - what assets should Nonis be willing to part with?

When it comes to the trade deadline this year, Dave Nonis is in a bittersweet position.

On one hand, the team is having an incredible season after starting as underdogs. The Canucks are 19-3-3 since Christmas and have an amazing 11-1-1 record in their last 13 road games. They’ve had two extensive win streaks and are getting all the bounces that they didn’t seem to get earlier on in the season. Luongo is stealing games and players like Brendan Morrison, Kevin Bieksa, and even Markus Naslund are coming up clutch when they are needed.

The Towel, The Power, The Towely Power

This is an odd website, to say the least. It started off as a message board and is now trying to grow the tree from the branches down by slapping a content page on the front. I'm not sure it would have been possible to do it the other, more conventional way around, we wouldn't have had the writers or the readers to make even a slow start possible. Either way we aren't exactly hitting the ground running.

Top Ten Canucks Occupations If They Didn't Play Hockey

10. Taylor ‘Pretty Eyes’ Pyatt becomes the face for Maybelline's first ever product line designed exclusively for men. While out at a nightclub with Nikki Taylor, they get into an argument over who's prettier, and Nikki drops him in a fistfight.

9. Sami Salo enlists in the Finnish Army as a sharp-eyed, steady-handed sniper for their Utti Jaeger Regiment as part of the Defensive Jaegers and Special Jaegers troop. He's honourably discharged, however, when he injures his fucking shoulder again.

NuckleHead11's Symposium

Are European Players Truly sub-par in the Playoffs?

When analyzing the statistics of the past 4 post-seasons, a trend emerges that showcases a drop in production of European players come playoff time. I used the top 20 point producers of the regular season and post season (more if players were tied) as a basis for this statistical analysis.

In 01/02:

Playoffs: 4 out of top 20 were European.

Regular Season: 8 out of top 20 were European.

20% decrease.

In 02/03:

Playoffs: 7 out of top 20 were European.

The Trade Deadline Is Going to Suck

It never ceases to amaze me how many things the average hockey fan can find to complain about. Call it passion, call it engagement, call it being informed, call it whatever you want, it doesn't change the fact that hockey fans are by and large impossible to please.
