I thought this was kind of cool.

A photo journalist from Denmark named Brian Poulsen made a trip to Vancouver to cover the recent Vancouver-Phoenix game. His goal was to be able to cover a game including two of the three current Danish NHLers - Mikkel Boedker of Phoenix, and, of course, Jannik Hansen of the Canucks.

Sadly for him, Hansen was injured, but he still seemed to enjoy the game. He took a lot of great photos, and they're all available at the following link:

Michel Ouellet played his inaugural game for the Canucks last night. I swiftly realized that I don't know very much about this guy. So I did a quick Google Images search and came up with this:

My first thought is that he needs a bit of conditioning. But he's managed to score a point per game with Manitoba, so I figure he's worth a deeper look.

Had to happen. Hordichuk is out 7-10 days with a knee injury and Demitra is out a few games with a rib contusion.

We also lost Salo with a groin problem but a Salo injury is about as surprising as a horrible Tony Gallagher article.

I was pleased to discover that Alexander Edler has been signed to a contract extension of four years at 3.25 million per year.

Yeah, that's right. We got a future star defenseman for less money than Jeff Finger's making.

Contract
Since he already has one more season (this one) on his current contract at a paltry $550,000, the Canucks will retain Alexander Edler's rights until the end of the 2012-2013 season. If the Mayans are right, this means the Canucks have Edler signed
